FPA Report

Latest court cases continue to be reported to members in the FPA by the association. In the latest news section of their monthly journal it is reported that a former estate agent in Devon pleaded guilty to 3 breaches of fire safety regulations. These related to a flat above a commercial property and were for the lack of a suitable means of escape in case of fire, structural failures, and the absence of a fire risk assessment.

Courts are certainly taking breaches of fire safety more seriously as the person concerned was fined the maximum permitted under the sentencing rules and were the persons income higher then so would the costs have been. As it was it was the equivalent of almost 6 months income.
